Music instruction expert, Cheryl Franklin, delights in sharing the same birth date as Mozart, Jerome Kern and Kate Wolf. She is San Franciscan born, and raised in a musical family spanning many generations. She has taught, performed and recorded music for over 35 years. Musically self-taught as a young child, she began performing and entertaining on the stage at an early age. She then continued studying music at Whitman College, The Juilliard School of Music, as well as numerous other musical institutions. Daily, she continues to quench her thirst for her love of music in all its multi-faceted forms.
Her private music teaching studio, Cheryl Teach Music, is located at 4372 Highway 12, in Rincon Valley, Santa Rosa. She shares her love, joy and excitement of music with people of all ages. She teaches piano, flute, and guitar as well as a multitude of other instruments; music theory & history; note reading & improvisation; composing & performing, etc. She specializes in beginners of all ages, young children, special needs and “adult beginning againers.”
Cheryl believes in the power and benefits of listening to, learning and playing music. Her primary goal and mission in life is to “musically touch as many people as I possibly can in the world and to make a positive difference in their lives.”
Cheryl Franklin has developed her own unique style and technique for igniting and fueling the fire of musical passion each one of us has inside. Her number one rule in music is, “Have fun!” Her number two rule is, “Play more, so you’ll have more fun!!” “So,” she exclaims, “You see how it works: the more you play, the more fun you’ll have–and the more fun you have, the more you’ll play…!”
